Father Rodion Laskowski was born and raised in the Scranton, Pennsylvania area.  His parents were the children of immigrants from Poland and Slovakia and he was baptized in the Eastern Rite Catholic Church.  He is the oldest of three siblings.  Immediately after high school he entered the Byzantine Catholic Seminary of SS Cyril and Methodius in Pittsburgh where he also attended classes at Duquesne University.  At the age of nineteen Father Rodion became convinced of the truth of Holy Orthodoxy and was received into the Church through the American Metropolia (now known as the OCA).  He graduated from St Tikhon's Theological Seminary in St Canaan, Pennsylvania in 1972 having received ordination to the Holy Priesthood at the hands of the late Archbishop Kiprian (Borisevich) on March21/April 3, 1071 the Day of the Laudations of the Theotokos (The Fifth Saturday of Great Lent).  Father ministered to the needs of the parish of St Basil the Great in Simpson, Pa. as he finished seminary and upon graduation was confirmed as rector of the parish.

Having perceived a departure from the spirit of true Orthodox ecclesiology in the OCA, Father appealed to the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia for acceptance and on the feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos in 1973 he was received into that Church by the hands of our father among the saints the Blessed Philaret of New York.  During the years following Father served parishes in Endicott, N.Y., Stratford, Ct and Milford, Ct.  In 1982 Fr Protodeacon Photios Touloumes travelled to Connecticut and invited Fr Rodion and family to come to the young parish of the Pillars of Orthodoxy then located in Mt Holly Springs.  On the first day of the Dormition Fast in 1982 Fr Rodion and his family arrived to the parish of which he is still rector.   Sadly, with the advent of sympathies toward World Orthodoxy and union with the Moscow Patriarchate on the part of the Synod Abroad following the repose of St Philaret of New York,  Fr Rodion found it necessary to lead the parish into communion with the confessing Old Calendar Church of Greece and subsequently under the omophorian of His Beatitude Archbishop Auxentios of Blessed Memory.  He is now one of the senior clergy of the Holy Orthodox Church of North America under the omophorion of his Eminence Metropolitan Ephraim of Boston.  In addition, the parish is the cathedral church of His Grace Bishop Demetrios of Carlisle.

gggggFather Rodian:

During all the years of his priestly labors Father's faithful companion and helpmate has been Matushka Anna (the former Anne Haladay) and God has blessed them with five children; Juliana, Seraphim,Alexis, Xenia and Maura all of whom reside with their spouses and children within a few miles of their parents.  In addition to his priesthood Father Rodion is also a Registered Nurse and continues to work part-time in the local community hospital.  His prayer is to ask God for strength  to continue his ministry in the midst of his beloved parish of the Pillars of Orthodoxy.
